The new Stadler FLIRT vehicles are each equipped with 180 seats and 217 standing room and reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h. The acquisition of the new vehicles means a significant improvement in travel comfort for passengers, e.g. through WLAN and power sockets in all trains.

The existing vehicles will also be successively converted and will then also have the comfort of the new vehicles.

The contracting authorities

The field of activity of the public authorities includes the planning, organisation and financing of rail passenger transport. They coordinate the timetable offer and grant financial support for investments in the local passenger transport system, for example for the renovation of stations. In addition, the NRW public transport authorities play a key role in the further development of the tariff landscape - from community tariffs to the implementation of an NRW tariff.

The close cooperation between Transdev Hannover GmbH and its clients plays an important role. The contract for the Hanover S-Bahn network from 2022 was awarded by the contracting authorities following a Europe-wide invitation to tender in 2018:

Region Hannover (RH)

Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen (LNVG)

Zweckverband Nahverkehr Westfalen-Lippe (NWL)
